The following events have been selected based upon accessibility and interest to our members:

Speaking Out with Larissa Behrendt considers Politics, Arts and Culture from a range of Indigenous perspectives. SPEAKING OUT airs on Radio National on Fridays at 12 noon and is replayed on Sundays on ABC Local Radio at 9pms. It is also conveniently available (including back issues) as a Podcast. Worth listening to.

The first week of the school holidays – opportunities for parents and grandparents.

Wednesday 10 July, 3:30pm to 5:00pm

Location: Headspace, 30 Stephen St, Mount Barker

Join us in NAIDOC Week 2024 for an interactive art and storytelling workshop lead by Kyle Sampson-Booth. 

We will paint our own story, exploring identity and self-expression, on A4 canvas. Together, the individual stories will combine to create a large mural to be displayed in our Centre foyer.

This is a free event for young people and their friends, family, and community members.

The event is part of a collaboration between South Australian Research and development Institute (SARDI), Red Centre Enterprises, First Nations Elders and communities which aims to support the development of information and training materials that can increase awareness and preserve the knowledge of Australian Natives Food and Medicine plants. We will be launching the first booklet that showcases 20 of these native plants, provide tastings of the raw plants and showcasing some products that can be produced using these plants.

This is the premier community event on the South Australian NAIDOC Calendar.


Friday 12 July, 11:00am to 12:30pm

Tarndanyangga (Victoria Square)

NAIDOC March (free event) gather at Tarndanyangga (Victoria Square) at 10.30am for a 11.00am start to march down King William Street to Parliament House to keep our SA fire burning Blak, Loud and Proud! At the conclusion of the March, we will proceed to the NAIDOC Family Festival located Adelaide Festival Plaza & Elder Park.

Friday 12 July, 12:00pm to 4:00pm

Elder Park, Adelaide

The Family Festival will be held at Adelaide Festival Plaza & Elder Park (not Victoria Square) and will start at the conclusion of the NAIDOC march. This Festival will have something for everyone from the organisation stalls, live entertainment and music, activities for the kids, amusement rides, food trucks and BBQ. This is an alcohol-free event.
